gWinds is composed of many people from many different backgrounds. Lets meet a few of them!
David Gatwood (ASCAP Conductor, French hornist, pianist) works as a software engineer in Geo Developer EngProd to pay for his music hobby. He is the son of two college music professors.
He has written over 150 compositions, mostly in the sacred choral space, which are available commercially from Simply Liturgical Music (slmusic.org).
Currently, he plays and sings in a number of musical ensembles, including the G Sharp Jazz Band, Googler Orchestra, and Ensemble Continuo. Additionally, he sits on the board of directors for the Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra.
Gabby Germanson (Clarinetist) is a Google Ads software engineer hailing from Minnesota.
She grew up playing piano and singing in a church choir, and she first met her clarinet, "Claire Blackwood," in 4th grade. In high school, she played clarinet in the Minnesota All-State band twice, received the Sousa Award (the highest band honor) for her class, and was her class's women's Triple AAA Award (Academics, Arts, Athletics) recipient. She continued playing the clarinet a bit in college.
Gabby was excited to help gWinds get running again after the pandemic.
Angel Aguayo (Flutist) works as a software engineer and was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona.
He first played the flute in 5th grade. During high school, he received the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence and went on to play in groups like the Arizona All Region Honor Band, the University of Arizona's Pride of Arizona, and their Wind Symphony.
He currently plays the flute and piccolo, and has dabbled in classical guitar, bari sax, and tuba. He also plays in the Googler Orchestra in the Bay Area plus both the Fantasy Symphony Orchestra and Marana Winds in Tucson.

He has been playing the clarinet since 4th grade and actively participated in school bands up through high school
After starting his career at Google, Kevin joined the pre-pandemic Google Wind Ensemble in 2019 and the Googler Orchestra in 2020. He is excited to help establish gWinds as a wind ensemble for Bay Area Googlers.
